Toyota drives a special deal with eBay
Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc. has signed a one-year contract with eBay Inc. to become the exclusive automotive manufacturer sponsor on eBay. As part of the agreement, Toyota will launch a dedicated destination at http://ebay.toyota.com that will showcase its new vehicle line-up and include links to items listings on eBay and special promotional offers.
Toyota will have an expanded presence on eBay.com and eBay Motors with banners and rich media ad placements. It says it hopes the relationship will attract new customers. "The alliance will allow us to reach Toyota owners and potential new buyers within the eBay community," a Toyota spokeswoman says.
In addition, Toyota will donate vehicles for various charity auctions on eBay, with the first expected to begin at the end of March.
EBay is the No. 1 online shopping destination and the No. 1 online automotive site, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. This is the first exclusive auto manufacturer sponsorship on eBay.
